The Sami Disharoon Brain Tumor Research Foundation is dedicated to fund pediatric brain tumor research at UCSF and to continue to help local families in Sonoma County. The foundation is non-profit and is staffed by family and friends of the Disharoon family

The current incident rate of children with brain tumors is 3.9 cases in 100,000. This means an estimated 3110 new cases of childhood brain tumors will be diagnosed each year. The current clinical trials largely involve combinations of radiation and chemotherapy and have not been successful.
Herein lies the need for pediatric brain tumor research.
Our goal, and the goal of this site, is to support the University of San Francisco's Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Program, as well as supporting local children and their families who have been diagnosed with brain tumors.
100% of all money raised is applied toward research or assisting families in need.
